The Township of Weymouth has created a fee schedule for the usage of Weymouth Township parks, playgrounds and recreational areas by use category. A fee for additional municipal services has also been created. The list of use categories and fees is as follows:
A.
Use categories.
(1)
Category I use: Township of Weymouth programs and events. Any Township of Weymouth sanctioned program and/or special event.
(2)
Category II use: recognized and sponsored Township of Weymouth youth organizations.
(3)
Category III use: Weymouth Township school district. Programs, events and/or activities officially sanctioned, coordinated and sponsored by the school district.
(4)
Category IV use: Township of Weymouth nonprofit organizations, church groups, or boy and girl scout groups. Nonprofit organizations, entities, individuals, or groups for the purpose of providing recreational services primarily to Township of Weymouth residents must show proof of nonprofit status and be able to demonstrate that their use of facilities benefits and/or services Township of Weymouth residents. Team rosters and/or intended participants must be 80% Township of Weymouth residents or higher. If at any time the organization or team rosters fall below 80%, the organization must immediately inform the Township Clerk. This may result in the organization or team being reclassified into Category V.
(5)
Category V use: non-Township of Weymouth nonprofit organizations. Nonprofit organizations, entities, individuals or groups for the purpose of providing recreational services must show proof of nonprofit status. Team rosters or intended participants with less than 80% Township of Weymouth residents.
(6)
Category VI use: commercial organizations, entities, individuals or groups for the purposes of providing recreational services that are operated as a for-profit enterprise.
C.
Fees for municipal services.
(1)
If it is determined by the appropriate officials that materials or personnel costs shall be required for the purpose of maintaining the general health, safety, and welfare of attendees or participants for the program or event, or the community in general, the Township of Weymouth reserves the right to require reimbursement of such costs.
(2)
If reimbursement is required, the organizations, entities, individuals or groups who have been permitted to use the park, playground, or recreational area shall deposit with the Chief Municipal Finance Officer a sum of money to be determined by the Public Works Director or their designee to be a reasonable estimate of the costs required. Payment shall be submitted by cash, check or money order no less than seven calendar days prior to the program or event. Failure to remit these costs in a timely fashion may result in the revocation of permissions to use the park, playground or recreational area. After the conduct of the program or event, the organizations, entities, individuals or groups who used the park, playground or recreational area for such program or event shall be required to pay the Township any additional amount determined to be due in reimbursement of the Township’s costs within 30 calendar days.
(3)
In the event that the sum of money so deposited in advance exceeds the funds needed, the Township of Weymouth shall refund any excess deposit within 30 calendar days after the holding of said program or event.
D.
Scheduling and requirements.
(1)
Categories I and II will have preference for field usage.
(2)
The Township may cancel individual activities on any given day depending on weather and current conditions.
(3)
All organizations, entities, individuals, groups or teams, regardless of category, shall submit a roster, required insurance coverage, copies of coach and trainer contact information, and youth protection card (where applicable) before the start of the season and/or practices.
