The purpose of the CG district is to provide areas for more intense commercial uses catering to the traveling public and the agricultural/farming community; those services supporting uses in other districts; and those uses which are not compatible within CD districts.

The following are the only uses permitted in CG districts:
(1) 
Uses allowed in Chapter 17.12;
(2) 
Truck, trailer, manufactured home, auto, farm implements and marine sales, service, repair and rental establishments;
(3) 
Health clubs;
(4) 
Feed and seed stores;
(5) 
Laundries and dry cleaners;
(6) 
Mortuaries; veterinary clinics and kennels provided all animals are kept in a completely enclosed building;
(7) 
Nursery school and day care facilities in accord with Section 17.19.140;
(8) 
Scientific research laboratories and testing facilities not requiring heavy machinery or equipment;
(9) 
Recreational vehicle parks in accord with Chapter 16.50;
(10) 
Accessory uses and structures related to a permitted use in accord with Chapter 17.22;
(11) 
Group home for handicapped persons in accord with Section 17.19.160;
(12) 
Adult family home; and
(13) 
Family day care.

The following uses require a conditional use permit in accord with Chapter 17.23:
(1) 
Public and quasi-public uses;
(2) 
On-site hazardous waste treatment and storage facilities when accessory to a permitted use, except residential, subject to state siting criteria;
(3) 
Veterinary clinics and kennels having outdoor pens and cages for the retention of animals;
(4) 
Other uses deemed similar in accord with Section 17.23.030; and
(5) 
Industrial uses.

In addition to the specific regulations set forth in this title and the standards set forth in or adopted by this code, development standards in the CG district shall include:
(1) 
Minimum setbacks: Front—none, but ten feet if abutting a residential district; side and rear—none, but twenty feet if abutting a residential district;
(2) 
Maximum building height: No limit;
(3) 
Off-street parking in accord with Chapter 17.20;
(4) 
Site review: Site review, in accord with Section 16A.06.030, is required for each new use or expansion of an existing use.
