It is unlawful for any person to ignite, kindle or maintain any outdoor fire whether or not confined within an incinerator, barbecue pit, barbecue stove or other outdoor cooking device without first obtaining a permit from the Sausalito Fire Department. Permits for such fires shall be issued as follows:
A.
If such fire is an open fire which is not contained within an approved incinerator, the permit shall be in writing and shall be issued only after the Sausalito Fire Department has made a site inspection. Such permits shall be issued only during the period between December 1st and May 15th of each year and may be revoked at any time if weather conditions require. All burning under such permit, unless otherwise restricted by the terms of the permit, shall be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. with all fires completely extinguished by 12:00 noon.
B.
If such fire is confined within an incinerator of a type previously approved by the Sausalito Fire Department, the permit may be issued orally, shall be valid only on the day issued and may be revoked at any time if weather conditions require. All burning performed under such a permit shall be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. with all fires completely extinguished by 12:00 noon.
C.
If such fire is confined within a barbecue pit, barbecue stove or other outdoor cooking device, the permit shall be issued orally for the period of actual use.
