It is unlawful for any person, except in self-defense, to wilfully discharge any firearm within the City limits; provided, however, that this chapter shall not apply to any duly constituted peace officer using a firearm in the lawful discharge of his duties as such peace officer.

Any person violating the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500.00, or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not exceeding six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
