Maximum Weight. A person must not drive a vehicle over a bridge if the vehicle weighs more than the maximum safe weight for the bridge. The maximum safe weights for bridges are:

B.
Exception. These restrictions shall not apply to emergency vehicles.
C.
Penalty. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and may be punished by a fine of $500.00 and 90 days in jail.
