The city has adopted an official flag for the city of Port Orchard. The city wishes to make this flag available to all citizens and agencies who wish to fly the flag at their homes or places of business. The flag may also be used as a promotional tool to attract visitors and encourage tourism as deemed appropriate by the mayor and/or city council. The purpose of this chapter is to set guidelines to ensure the flag will be used and displayed appropriately.

Use of the Port Orchard flag by the city shall conform to the following conditions:
(1) 
The Port Orchard flag should be used and treated in a similar fashion to all flags.
(2) 
The Port Orchard flag shall be in a lower priority position to national flags, such as the American, as well as any state flags.

The city may make the flag available to any citizen requesting it at the cost to the city for reproduction, plus a 20 percent handling fee. Any individual wishing to purchase a Port Orchard flag shall make a request for purchase to the city clerk's office.
