The term of office for members of an advisory body is four years, unless otherwise noted. Members shall serve no more than two consecutive terms unless the member was selected to complete an unexpired term or unless otherwise noted. However, members may be appointed back to an advisory body after a break in service from that body of two years.
Time served in an unexpired term shall not count against the two-term limit. An advisory body member who has reached the term limit in one body may be appointed immediately to another body, and such an appointment will have a separate two-term limit applied to it.
The following term limits are exceptions to the limits specified above:
A. Library Board of Trustees. The term of office for members of the Library Board of Trustees is three years. No member shall serve more than three consecutive terms, unless the member was selected to complete an unexpired term.
B. Livermore Area Youth Advisory Commission. The term of office for members of the Livermore Area Youth Advisory Commission is two years. No member shall serve more than four consecutive terms, unless the member was selected to complete an unexpired term.
