A person providing information to the borough police which leads to the arrest and indictment of another for an unclassified, Class A, B or C felony, or pursuant to Alaska Statutes 17.12.010 et seq. (relating to depressant, hallucinogenic and stimulant drugs), Alaska Statutes 04.16.051 (furnishing of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age 19), or Alaska Statutes 04.16.052 (furnishing of alcoholic beverages to persons under the age of nineteen by licensees) is eligible for a reward of up to one thousand dollars; provided, that if the offense is a misdemeanor, then the person providing the information will be eligible for the reward if the information leads to the arrest and conviction of another.

The chief of police shall certify to the borough manager if the person requesting the reward is entitled to it. If the borough manager determines that the person is eligible to receive the reward he shall pay the reward from appropriations made for that purpose. The borough manager's decision shall be final and conclusive.

Any person who releases the name of a person providing information described in Section 10.10.010 is guilty of an infraction and is punishable by the fine in Section 1.04.090.
