The Public Guardian shall be appointed by resolution of the Board of Supervisors and shall exercise the authority of that office for two-year terms or until the termination of the office upon order of the Board of Supervisors.
The Public Guardian shall have such powers and duties as are prescribed by the applicable provisions of the Welfare and Institutions Code and the Probate Code which pertain to the office of Public Guardian. Conservatorship services and investigations required by Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5000 et seq. shall be carried out by the Public Guardian.
The Public Guardian may appoint such Deputy Public Guardians as may be necessary to enable said Public Guardian to properly prosecute and perform the powers and duties of their office.
