The Tahoe Valley area plan/specific plan has been adopted by the city to establish a framework that will achieve redevelopment and reinvestment in properties on the ground environmental improvements, enhancement of the built environment, enhancement of the transportation and circulation network, and increased access to recreation and open space opportunities. However, the Tahoe Valley area plan/specific plan provides more detailed direction than the city general plan and TRPA Regional Plan. It addresses land use regulations, development and design standards and environmental improvements for the plan area.
