It is unlawful to operate or move a vehicle or combination of vehicles or special mobile equipment of a size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in the
California Vehicle Code through the city limits without an approved single trip oversized load permit or an approved annual oversized load permit.
The single trip and annual oversized load permits shall be issued upon approval of an application provided and approved by the city engineer of the city and the payment of permit fees, the amount of which shall be set forth in the city fee schedule. Where an applicant seeks a permit to carry one or more loads of a size or weight specified in the California Administrative Code sections relating to the issuance of transportation permits, an additional special services fee for engineering investigations, routing definition, coordination and controller permit movement for each load may be charged as specified in the city fee schedule.
The amount for all fees associated with the issuance of single trip and annual oversized load permits as set forth in the Galt fee schedule shall coincide with the fee schedule determined by the California Department of Transportation and set forth in the California Administrative Code sections relating to the issuance of transportation permits.
All operations are to be conducted in accordance with the conditions and restrictions stated on the approved permit, including, but not limited to, the route to be taken and hours stipulated for operation.
