The salaries of the elected city officials shall be as set forth in SMC § 2.05.020, commencing October 1, 2018, and shall remain in effect until such time as the city council shall otherwise provide by ordinance.

A. 
Mayor. The mayor shall be paid $2,500 per month.
B. 
Council. Council salary is set by the salary commission.

A. 
An elected official may waive all or any portion of their salary during their term of office.
1. 
Notice of waiver must be:
a. 
In writing and delivered to the finance director prior to the effective date of such waiver; and
b. 
Signed by the elected official and their spouse, if married, as required by RCW 49.48.100. Signatures must be acknowledged by a notary public.
2. 
A waiver is only effective for salary earned starting on the effective date of the waiver.
3. 
A waiver continues in effect until withdrawn in writing, signed by the elected official and the elected official's spouse, if married, and delivered to the finance director.
4. 
Once the waiver is made, the salary not received shall become the property of the city and the elected official waives the right to claim these amounts at a future date.
