The city of Bell Gardens shall have and does hereby adopt an official city seal (hereinafter "city seal"), which is described as follows:
The city seal is depicted below and shall be in the form of two concentric circles. Within the inner circle, the words "HUB OF PROGRESS" are directly below a depiction of a city skyline. The outer circle encompasses the words "CITY OF BELL GARDENS" at the top and the word "CALIFORNIA" on the bottom. The city seal is comprised of the colors blue and gold with all words depicted in the color white.

A. 
The city clerk of the city of Bell Gardens shall have custody of the city seal and will affix the city seal to all certificates and documents as may be required by law, by this code, or by ordinance of the city.
B. 
All other uses of the city seal are restricted to official city business and such other appropriate uses that further the operations of the city as may be authorized in writing by the city manager or city council.
C. 
City officers, city employees, members of the city council and members of city boards and commissions may use printed materials and other articles with the city seal or facsimile of the city seal while acting within the scope of their office or employment.

A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person, organization or business enterprise to make or use the city seal of the city of Bell Gardens without express written permission from the city of Bell Gardens. Unauthorized use of the city seal is declared a public nuisance and the city can abate or enjoin such use pursuant to this code.
B. 
No person, organization or business enterprise shall use any reproduction of the city seal in a manner to cause persons of reasonable perception and intelligence to believe that such a reproduction is city-sponsored or represents the position of, or publication of, the city of Bell Gardens.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a separate offense for each and every day, or part thereof, during which a violation of this chapter or of any law or regulation referenced herein is allowed, committed, continued, maintained or permitted by such person, and shall be punishable in accordance with penalties set forth in Chapter 1.12 BGMC.
