A. 
Riding in Group. Persons operating bicycles within a bicycle lane or upon a bicycle path shall ride in single file, except as otherwise provided in Section 21202(a) of the Vehicle Code.
B. 
Direction of Travel. Persons riding or operating a bicycle on a bicycle trail or path may proceed in either direction except on those trails or paths designated for one-way traffic by appropriate markings or signs or defined by the direction of adjacent vehicular traffic.
C. 
Walking Bicycles. Bicycles may be walked, subject to all provisions of law applicable to pedestrians.

A. 
Riding on Sidewalks. Bicycles may be ridden on all sidewalks at a speed not to exceed five miles per hour, except the following:
1. 
Sidewalks within a business district;
2. 
Sidewalks adjacent to any public school building when school is in session;
3. 
Sidewalks adjacent to any recreation center when in use, or any church during services;
4. 
Any pedestrian overcrossing or other sidewalk where prohibited by posted signs.
B. 
Director to Designate Prohibitions. The director may designate and declare certain portions of any sidewalk to be prohibited for bicycle use.
C. 
Director to Post Prohibitions. The director is authorized to erect and maintain signs adjacent to sidewalks designating prohibitions on the use of bicycles.
D. 
Yielding Right-of-Way. Whenever any person is riding a bicycle upon a sidewalk, such person shall yield the right-of-way to any and all pedestrians. A person riding a bicycle upon entering a roadway or driveway from a sidewalk shall yield to all traffic.

A. 
No person shall ride a skateboard, roller skates or other conveyance propelled by human power, other than a bicycle as permitted by Section 8.10.020, or cause or permit the same to roll or coast on the roadway of any highway in the city or any sidewalk located within a business district.
B. 
Director to Post Prohibitions. The director is authorized to erect and maintain signs adjacent to sidewalks to be prohibited for skateboard, roller skates or similar pedestrian traffic.
C. 
Penalty for Violations. Any police officer or other person authorized to issue citations shall have the authority to impound any skateboard, in-line skates, roller skates or other recreational equipment of a person found violating this chapter. Upon impoundment of any skateboard, in-line skates, roller skates or other recreational equipment as provided herein, the owner of such device shall be issued a receipt. Said receipt shall state the hours, location, time frame and manner for claiming the impounded skateboard, in-line skates, roller skates, or other recreational equipment, as provided in subsections (C)(i) and (ii) of this section.
i. 
Upon presentation of the receipt and a government-issued identification card, the owner may claim the impounded skateboard, in-line skates, roller skates or other recreational equipment at the police department during business hours. If the owner is a minor, such owner may claim the impounded skateboard, in-line skates, roller skates or other recreational equipment if accompanied by a parent or guardian with a government-issued identification card. No fee may be assessed of the owner, parent or guardian for claiming the impounded equipment; however, a citation may be issued for violations which lead to the impounding.
ii. 
If the impounded skateboard, in-line skates, roller skates or other recreational equipment is/are not claimed within sixty days after the date of impoundment, the city may dispose of the item(s) by public sale at auction.

A. 
Intersections. The director is authorized to place and maintain signs or markings to prohibit or to restrict pedestrian crossings at certain legs of intersection.
B. 
Midblock. The director is authorized to install midblock pedestrian crossings.
C. 
Juvenile Traffic Safety. No person shall allow, instruct, or encourage a juvenile-aged child under his custody, control, or responsibility to cross a street between intersections unless physically accompanied by an individual sixteen years of age or older.
1. 
For the purposes of this subsection C, "juvenile-aged child" means a child under twelve years of age.
2. 
For the purposes of this subsection C, "between intersections" means the area between the locations within which vehicles traveling upon different directions cross or intersect.
3. 
Subsection C above shall not apply when a juvenile-aged child safely crosses the street unaccompanied by an adult within a designated crosswalk or signal located between intersections.
4. 
Subsection C shall not apply when a peace officer directs a child or other pedestrian to cross between intersections.
5. 
Any person who violates any of the provisions of this subsection C shall be guilty of an infraction and shall be subject to a fine and/or penalty as set forth in Chapter 1.56 "Penalty Provisions" of this code.

No person shall stand in any roadway, other than in a safety zone or in a crosswalk, if such action interferes with the lawful movement of traffic; provided, however, the provisions of this section shall not apply to any public officer or employee or employee of a public utility when necessarily upon a street in the line of duty.
