The council may hire a city attorney as a full-time city employee, as a part-time city employee, or as a legal services contract provider. If hired as an employee, the city attorney shall be classified as a management employee.
The city attorney shall have the duties and privileges prescribed by the charter in addition to those prescribed in the city's classification plan and in addition to those that may be provided by agreement between the city and the city attorney.
