For the purposes of this chapter, unless otherwise apparent from the context, certain words and phrases used in this chapter are defined as follows:
"Daily rate"
means the rate charged for occupying a room beginning with the establishment's check-in time and ending twenty-four hours after such time.
"Day"
means the period beginning with the establishment's check-in time and ending twenty-four hours after such time.
"Hotel"
means any building containing six or more guest rooms or suites of guest rooms intended or designed to be used, or which are used, rented or hired out to be occupied, or which are occupied, on a temporary basis by guests.
"Motel"
means a building or group of buildings containing guest or sleeping rooms used primarily for overnight or temporary accommodations of automobile travelers or tourists. Individual units shall have a separate entrance leading directly from the outside of the building or from an inner court.

It is unlawful for any hotel or motel to charge less than the daily rate for the letting of any room or rooms, regardless of the time such room or rooms are actually occupied.

It is unlawful for any hotel or motel to offer reduced rates or refunds on the basis that a room or rooms are occupied for less than a full day.
