Any plat may be vacated per the applicable portions of the Illinois State Statute.
The written vacation instrument shall be accompanied by the following plats and plans:
(A)
Two (2) copies of the plat of subdivision, on which there shall be shown the part thereof, or street, alley, easement, or part thereof, to be vacated.
(B)
A certificate signed by the County Clerk certifying that there are no delinquent general taxes, no unpaid current general taxes, no unpaid forfeited taxes, and no redeemable tax sales against any of the land included in the property to be vacated.
(C)
When lots have been sold, the written vacation instrument shall be signed by all the owners of lots in the plat.
When any plat or part thereof is vacated the recorder in whose office the plat is recorded or filed as aforesaid, shall, upon the recording of such vacation, written in plain letter across the plat or part so vacated the word “vacated”, and shall also make a reference on the same to the volume and page in which the instrument of vacation is recorded.
