The date of the general municipal election is changed from the second Tuesday of April, in each even-numbered year, to the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in each even-numbered year. The city clerk shall forward a certified copy of the ordinance codified in this chapter to the board of supervisors of Solano County, with the request that said municipal election be consolidated with the statewide general election held on the same date.

If the board of supervisors approves the request for consolidation, then pursuant to Government Code Section 36503.5, those elected city officers whose terms would have expired on the Tuesday succeeding the second Tuesday in April of an even-numbered year shall, instead, continue in their offices until no later than the fourth Tuesday after the day of the general municipal election.
