Going in and upon private residences and property in the city by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants, and transient vendors of merchandise, not having been specially invited and requested so to do by the owners or occupants thereof, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, or magazines, or for the purpose of disposing of, peddling, or hawking the same, is declared to be a common and public nuisance.
