The Preservation and Development Zone is intended to provide for the coordinated development of planned commercial projects in an orderly and aesthetically pleasing manner that recognizes and preserves significant natural landscape features, open lands, and historical buildings. The zone establishes a more comprehensive review procedure with flexibility in development standards to accommodate existing features. It is intended that areas within the PAD Zone are developed in a manner that will reflect the unique character of the congruous area upon which the zoning exists whether it be natural conditions or the built environment.
