It is unlawful for any person under the age of 18 years to carry or shoot any bow and arrow in the city, unless the arrow has the forward end blunted and covered with rubber or some other suitable material or substance which will prevent injury to any person if struck by such arrow.

The provisions of PMC § 9.72.010 shall not apply to licensed archery courses, archery courses conducted by any school or educational institution, nor to regularly enrolled members of clubs organized for the purpose of target shooting; provided, such members or students are at their places of assembly, meeting or target practice or are going to or returning from such places with unbraced bows; provided further, that the place, time and method of supervision of such assembly, meeting or target practice has been approved by the city council, upon written application therefor, or the place, time and method of supervision of such assembly, meeting or target practice has been set and designated by the governing board of any school or educational institution.

It is unlawful for any parent or guardian of any child under the age of 18 to knowingly permit such child to carry or shoot any bow and arrow or any air rifle or air pistol contrary to the provisions of this chapter.

Whenever any person is convicted of violating any part of the provisions of this chapter, the bow and arrow or air rifle or air pistol so carried or discharged shall be confiscated by the court.
