The codes adopted in Sections
15.04.010 through
15.04.070 are hereby amended by the following additions, deletions, and exceptions. Section numbers referenced herein are to the codes as adopted by this chapter. Notwithstanding these section numbers referenced from the current codes, all additions, deletions, and exceptions as noted herein shall apply to all future codes adopted by the state of Washington and thence adopted as the building codes of the city of Prosser.
Section 101.1 (IBC) Section R101.1 (IRC) Section 101.1 (IFC)—Title.
These regulations shall be known as the Fire Code of the City of Prosser, hereinafter referred to as "this code." |
A. | Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the International Fire Code, it means the City of Prosser. |
B. | Wherever the term "corporate counsel" is used in the International Fire Code, it means the attorney for the city. |
C. | "Fire Chief," for the purpose of Section 104.11, means the fire chief of the fire jurisdiction serving the City. For all other purposes in the code, "fire chief" means the fire code official. |
Section 103.1 (IBC) R103.1 (IRC) Section 103.1 (IFC)—General.
The department of fire prevention, also known as the Building Department, is established within the jurisdiction under the direction of the fire code official. The function of the department shall be the implementation, administration and enforcement of the provisions of this code. |
Section 105.1.1(IBC) Section 105.1.6 (IFC)—Annual Permit. Delete this entire subsection. Annual permits shall not be issued in the city of Prosser.
Section 105.1.2(IBC) Section 105.1.6.1 (IFC)—Annual Permit Records. Delete this entire subsection. Annual permit records shall not be valid within the city of Prosser.
Section 105.2(IBC) and R105.2 (IRC). Sections (1) and (2) shall be deleted in their entirety. Fences built in the city of Prosser shall require a building permit. One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage sheds, playhouses and similar uses, provided that the floor area is not greater than 200 square feet (18.59 m2).
Electrical. This entire subcategory, including repairs and maintenance, radio and television transmitting devices, and temporary testing systems, is hereby deleted. All electrical permits and permit exemptions shall be as set forth by the state of Washington Department of Labor and Industries.
Plumbing. Items (1) and (2) of this subcategory are hereby deleted. All plumbing permits and plumbing permit exemptions shall be as set forth in the adopted plumbing code.
Section 107.1 (IBC) 106.1 (IRC) 105.4.1 (IFC)—Submittals.
Submittals shall be made to the City of Prosser Building Department. Construction documents shall be submitted in one or more sets and in such form and detail as required by the fire code official. More specifically, for fire alarm systems three sets are required and for automatic sprinkler systems four sets are required. The construction documents shall be prepared by a registered design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is to be constructed and have licenses and credentials as required by the state of Washington. All companies installing fire protection systems within the City of Prosser shall have a City of Prosser business license as required by city of Prosser. |
R109.2 (IBC) R108.2 (IRC) 106.2 (IFC)—Schedule of permit fees.
All fees shall be paid in accordance with PMC 15.04.130. |
Section 501.3 (IFC)—Construction documents.
Construction documents for proposed fire apparatus access, location of fire lanes, security gates across fire apparatus access roads and construction documents and hydraulic calculations for fire hydrant systems shall be submitted to the Fire Code Official who shall route to the Fire Department for comment. The Fire Code Official shall make the final determination. |
