The following sections of Chapter 25 of the California Building Code, as adopted by Chapter 18.01 hereof, are added, deleted, or amended as follows.

2505.4 Shear walls sheathed with gypsum board, gypsum panel products, or lath and plaster shall not be permitted as part of the primary lateral force resisting system of a building structure. |
Exception: Shear walls sheathed with gypsum board or lath and plaster shall be permitted for conventional wood-framed structures subject to the limitations of Section 2308, as amended. |
2512.1.2.1 Weather-resistive barrier at offset weep screeds. Where the vertical flange of the weep screed does not align with the foundation, the gap between the weep screed and the foundation shall be protected by a continuous weather-resistive barrier that conforms to one of the following: | |
1. | The gap between the weep screed and the foundation shall be sealed with a material approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction; or |
2. | The base of the weep screed shall extend back to the foundation; or |
3. | Additional corrosion-resistant flashing shall be provided. |
