There is hereby adopted by reference that certain code known and designated as the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 9, further described and referred to as the 2025 California Fire Code published by the California Building Standards Commission and based on the International Fire Code®, 2024 Edition, prepared by the International Code Council.
Adoption of said code shall include such amendments to the 2025 California Fire Code as duly adopted by the County of Los Angeles and referred to as Title 32 of the Los Angeles County Code, also known as the County of Los Angeles Fire Code.
Such code shall become and be the Santa Clarita Fire Code, regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises in the City of Santa Clarita.
The Santa Clarita Fire Code shall become effective January 1, 2026.
At least one copy of the Santa Clarita Fire Code shall be maintained and kept available for reference and examination by the public at the city’s Permit Center public counter.

There is hereby adopted by reference that certain code known and designated as the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 7, further described and referred to as the 2025 California Wildland-Urban Interface Code published by the California Building Standards Commission and based on the International Wildland-Urban Interface Code®, 2024 Edition, prepared by the International Code Council.
Such code shall become and be the Santa Clarita Wildland-Urban Interface Code, regulating the design and construction of structures and development to reduce the likelihood of life and property loss due to a wildfire when located in the city’s Fire Hazard Severity Zones. Enforcement of such code will be a joint effort between the city and Los Angeles County Fire.
The Santa Clarita Wildland-Urban Interface Code shall become effective for building permit applications received by the city on or after January 1, 2026.
At least one copy of the Santa Clarita Wildland-Urban Interface Code shall be maintained and kept available for reference and examination by the public at the city’s Permit Center public counter.
