A. 
The term of office for the membership shall be three years.
B. 
The first planning commission members shall be appointed and serve terms as follows:
1. 
Two commission members for a term of three years;
2. 
Two commission members for a term of two years;
3. 
One commission member for a term of one year.
C. 
Thereafter, all appointments shall be for a three-year term.
D. 
This schedule of terms of office shall be effective retroactive to February 2, 1972.

In the event of a vacancy on the commission caused by death, resignation, inability to serve, or any other reason, before the expiration of the term of any member, the assembly shall appoint some person to fill such vacancy for the unexpired term. At the time of a vacancy, the assembly shall give 10 days’ public notice that there is a vacancy on the commission and that interested persons may inform the assembly that they are willing to serve. The assembly is not, however, limited to those applying when appointing members.

The commission shall organize itself by electing a chairman and vice chairman. Meetings shall be held at least once a month, with special meetings as required. Minutes of all meetings shall be furnished to the office of the administrator.
