Editor's Note: Section 5 of this local law was amended 3-3-1993 by L.L. No. 2-1993 to read as follows: "This local law shall take effect April 4, 1994, except that an election shall be conducted for the additional office of Village Justice at the general village election to be held in March 1994, for an initial term of one year, provided that no petition shall have been filed within 30 days after the adoption of this law for a referendum on this law as provided by law, and further provided that if such petition shall have been filed that this law first shall have been approved by a majority affirmative vote at a referendum thereon as required by law."
A. 
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Saddle Rock does herewith establish the office of Village Justice of and for the Village of Saddle Rock.
B. 
The Board of Trustees of the Village of Saddle Rock does hereby establish the second office of Village Justice of and for the Village of Saddle Rock.
C. 
The Board of Trustees, by resolution, from time to time, may designate one of the Village Justices as the Administrative Justice of the Village Justice Court.

A. 
Commencing with the 2020 general Village election, elections shall be held for the offices of Mayor, Trustees and Village Justices for terms of four years each, and elections for such offices thereafter shall be held biennially, in even-numbered years.
B. 
Notwithstanding the provisions of Subsection A of this section, the terms of office for the Mayor, Trustees and Village Justice to be elected at the 2020 general Village election shall be four years each, and the terms of office of the Mayor and Trustees to be elected at the 2021 general election shall be five years each. The term of office of the Village Justice to be elected at the 2021 general Village election shall be five years. Thereafter, the successors to each such office shall be elected for terms of four years each.
