The city attorney shall nominate an individual to the mayor for mayoral appointment as the assistant city attorney. The mayor shall then either accept or reject the city attorney's nomination. If the mayor rejects the city attorney's nomination, the city attorney shall provide additional nominations until the mayor appoints one of the city attorney's nominees as assistant city attorney. The assistant city attorney shall serve at the pleasure of the mayor.
