The purpose of this title is to identify processes and methods to achieve compliance with laws and regulations adopted by the board of county commissioners to protect the health, safety and environment of the public. It is the policy of Lewis County to emphasize code compliance by education and prevention as a first step, followed by voluntary compliance. Should voluntary compliance not occur in a timely manner, then enforcement through civil and criminal remedies shall be used as needed to assure code compliance. Abatement shall be pursued only when appropriate and feasible and shall be pursuant to Chapter 1.22 LCC, Abatement of Public Nuisance.
