For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them:
(3) "Vicious animal"
shall mean any animal that has (a) killed a person; (b) inflicted serious injury to a person, including multiple bites, serious disfigurement, serious impairment of health, or serious impairment of a bodily function; or (c) in the case of a dog, continued to exhibit the behavior which resulted in a previous finding by a court that it is a "dangerous dog," provided the owner or custodian of said dog has been given notice of that finding.
(4) "Wild or exotic animal"
shall mean any live monkey (nonhuman primate), raccoon, skunk, wolf, squirrel, fox, leopard, panther, tiger, lion, lynx or any other warm-blooded animal, poisonous snake or tarantula which can normally be found in the wild state or any other member of crocodilian, including, but not limited to, alligators, crocodiles, caimans, and gavials. Animals which have been bred in captivity and which have never known the wild and are lawfully made available for sale or otherwise by a pet shop located and lawfully operating in the corporate limits of the city of Staunton shall be excluded from this definition.
