(1) 
No person shall offer for sale, sell, install or cause to be installed in the city any fire warning system which is not approved by the chief of the fire code official and the building official, nor shall any person install or cause to be installed any such system except in a manner approved by the chief of the fire code official and the building official.
(2) 
The electrical review board is hereby designated as the appeals board from rulings or decisions under this section of the chief of the fire code official and/or the building official.
(3) 
A violation of this section shall constitute a Class 3 misdemeanor.
