A.
It is determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by state law upon those streets or portions thereof described in subsection B of this section is less than is necessary for safe operation of vehicles thereon by reason of the designation and signposting of the streets as arterial highways, or by reason of widely spaced intersections, and it is declared that the speed limit upon those streets or portions thereof described in subsection B of this section shall be as therein stated, which speeds so declared shall be effective at the times specified therein when signs are erected giving notice thereof, but in no case shall the speed limit exceed thirty-five miles per hour.
B.
In accordance with subsection A of this section, as it presently exists or may hereinafter be amended, and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, and when the limit is approved by the Washington State Secretary of Transportation as required by RCW 46.61.415, speed limits shall be as follows:
1.
Bond Road N.E., from Front Street N.E. to the city limits, thirty-five miles per hour;
2.
Viking Avenue N.W., from the south city limits to the intersection of Washington State Highway 305, thirty-five miles per hour;
3.
Washington State Highway 305, from the intersection with Lincoln Road N.E. south to the city limits, thirty-five miles per hour.
