There is established an annexation fee which is a charge to be assessed against all unincorporated property to be annexed to the city. Such fees will be paid in full prior to the presentation of the annexation ordinance to the city council and are assessable regardless of whether the annexation was initiated by direct petition or by resolution of the city council.

If the property to be annexed is 10 acres or less, the fee for annexation will be $500.00. Fees for annexation of property in excess of 10 acres will be $1,000. If the annexation is initiated by petition, each owner of property to be annexed shall be liable for a pro rata share of the annexation assessment, on the basis of number of acres owned to total acres annexed, or as otherwise agreed to by the petitioners. If the annexation is initiated by resolution of the city council, each owner of property to be annexed shall be liable for a pro rata share of the annexation assessment on the basis of the number of acres owned to total acres annexed.
