The City Clerk, Attorney, Treasurer/Director of Finance, Director of Public Works and Public Safety Director are appointed by the Mayor and must be confirmed by the Council. Appointed officers serve at the pleasure of the Council the length of their services determined by the Council. If any officer is dismissed, the reason for dismissal must be given to the officer, in writing and signed by four or more members of the Council. Officers must take the oath of office in the manner prescribed for Councilmembers.
