These clean air smoking and vaping regulations are adopted for the purpose of protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public by reducing the potential for public exposure to nicotine and other harmful and potentially harmful chemicals by restricting the use of tobacco and vapor products, also known as electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) and e-cigarettes, in public places, places of employment, and certain outdoor public places.

These rules are enacted to protect the public health and promote the safety and welfare of the citizens of Jefferson County through the prohibition of smoking and use of vapor products in public places, and places of employment and outdoor public places where children congregate.
