The Mayor of the City shall have the authority to appoint a Building Inspector upon the approval of the Board of Aldermen. The fees or salary paid to the Building Inspector shall be in an amount set by the Board of Aldermen. The Building Inspector shall hold office for one ( 1) year and until lis/her successor is appointed and qualified.

A. 
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen shall determine the duties of the Building Inspector, which shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
1. 
Determine whether the work proposed in any building permit application conforms to the requirements of such application and any Building Code enacted by the City;
2. 
Approve or deny building permit applications;
3. 
Insure that any construction within the City is consistent with and in compliance with any plans, specifications or conditions set forth in the building permit and application for same, and any Building Code adopted by the City;
4. 
Revoke any building permit due to violations of the permit or any Building Code adopted by the City, or issue a stop order for any construction being performed in violation of Chapter 505 of the City of Granby Code of Ordinances;
5. 
Conduct all inspections of construction projects within the City consistent with any building permit or Building Code requirements;
6. 
All duties with respect to dangerous buildings as set forth in Chapter 500 of the City of Granby Code of Ordinances; and
7. 
Any other duties as shall be established by the Mayor or Board of Aldermen.
