A.
There is hereby created an economic development advisory board (board) consisting of seven members, the majority of which shall be residents of the city of Edgewood and, because of the regional nature of economic development, up to three members may be nonresidents. The city council shall reasonably endeavor to seek a diverse membership including without limitation members from the banking industry, real estate investment, real estate sales, commercial marketing, business professionals, and economic development specialists.
B.
Alternate Members. In addition to the seven regular voting members of the economic development advisory board, the city council may appoint up to two alternate members. Alternate members shall be appointed in the same manner as regular members and shall serve terms consistent with those established in EMC § 2.32.020. Alternate members shall be subject to the same residency, removal, and vacancy requirements applicable to regular members unless otherwise provided by ordinance.
