The provisions of the 2025 Edition of the California Building Code, the 2025 California Historical Building Code, the 2025 California Existing Building Code, the 2025 California Residential Code, the 2025 California Plumbing Code, the 2025 California Electrical Code, the 2025 California Mechanical Code, the 2025 California Green Building Standards Code, the 2025 California Fire Code, and the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code, as adopted and amended herein, shall not apply to any building or structure for which an application for a building permit was made prior to January 1, 2026. Such buildings or structures shall be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, or repaired in accordance with the provisions of this chapter in effect at the date of said application.

The office of building inspector, plumbing inspector and other offices provided in the codes mentioned in Section 15.04.010 are consolidated into one office known as the office of building inspector.

The city council may by resolution adopt fee schedules relating to the processing of applications for permits for various aspects of development in the city, including, but not limited to, the subject matter of codes mentioned in Section 15.04.010 of this chapter.
