Editor’s Note: Former Section 2.112.010, “Established,” was repealed by the ordinance adopting this 2000 edition of the Kitsap County Code. See Title 1 of this code. Part of Resolution 198-1993 was formerly codified in this section.
Pursuant to RCW 72.09.300(1), the following persons or their designees are appointed to serve on the county law and justice council:
(a) 
The Kitsap County sheriff;
(b) 
A representative of the municipal police departments within the county;
(c) 
The county prosecutor;
(d) 
A representative of the municipal prosecutors within the county;
(e) 
A representative of the city legislative authorities within the county;
(f) 
A representative of the county’s superior, juvenile, district, and municipal courts;
(g) 
The county jail administrator;
(h) 
The county clerk;
(i) 
The county risk manager; and
(j) 
The secretary of corrections.

The terms of these appointments are effective immediately and the law and justice council will convene its first meeting within forty-five days of the enactment of this chapter. The council shall organize itself in such a manner as it deems appropriate, consistent with this chapter and RCW 72.09.300, including the adoption of rules and bylaws and the formation of subcommittees.
