The following chapter is established by the Albany City Council to promote and protect the public health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of Albany by providing for the regulation of the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees in the City of Albany. Trees of significant size possess considerable environmental and aesthetic qualities beneficial to the community. These standards are intended to balance the preservation of significant trees as a benefit to the community with the individual right to use and enjoy property.
