A. 
There is hereby established in the Department of Administration a Division of Public Engagement, which shall be responsible for fostering meaningful, transparent, and responsive communication between the City and the public. The Division shall coordinate and advance community engagement, digital engagement, data-informed outreach, and quality-of-life initiatives to enhance public trust, participation, and confidence in City government. Incorporating the former Division of Innovation and Data, they shall also be responsible for data management and analytics and deployment of innovative solutions.
B. 
The Division of Public Engagement shall centralize and oversee, including but not limited to, public communications and outreach, constituent and community engagement initiatives, digital and social media communications, data and innovation efforts related to public engagement, press and media relations, and the coordination of quality-of-life issues in collaboration with the appropriate departments of City government. Responsibilities shall include the dissemination of accurate and timely information to the public; coordination of public meetings, community forums, and stakeholder engagement; management of the City's digital platforms and engagement tools; analysis of data to improve service delivery and public interaction; serving as the primary liaison to the media through the Press Secretary; and facilitating interdepartmental coordination on quality-of-life concerns, code enforcement communication, and service responsiveness.
The personnel staff in the Division of Public Engagement may include clerical, operational, supervisory and managerial positions as deemed necessary within the budgetary limits established by the Council.[1]
