(a) 
It is unlawful for any person to point or shoot any rifle, pistol, shotgun, air gun, bow and arrow, or crossbow, or any instrument of similar character at any person or property of another or hunt within the city limits.
(b) 
Any person convicted of a violation of the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, in addition to any other punishment imposed by the court, the court may direct that the weapon so used in violation of the provisions hereof be confiscated and destroyed.
(c) 
This prohibition does not apply to the discharge of firearms by law enforcement officers engaged in the performance of their official powers or duties.

The amendment, addition or repeal by Washington State Legislature of any section of any of the adopted statutes shall be deemed to amend the ordinance codified in this chapter and the statutes contained herein which are adopted by reference in conformity with the amendment, addition or repeal, and it shall not be necessary for the legislative authority of this city to take any action with respect to such addition, amendment, or repeal as provided by RCW 35.21.180.

(a) 
Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c) of this section, all firearms that come into the possession of the Fircrest police department after June 30, 1993, that are judicially forfeited under RCW 9.41.098 and no longer needed for evidence, or forfeited due to a failure to make a claim under RCW 63.32.010, may be disposed of by the Fircrest police department in its sole discretion as follows:
(1) 
Retained for Fircrest police department use;
(2) 
Traded to commercial sellers;
(3) 
Auctioned to commercial sellers;
(4) 
Destroyed.
(b) 
All antique firearms and firearms recognized as curios, relics and firearms of particular historical significance by the United States Treasury Department Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are exempt from destruction and shall be disposed of by auction or trade to licensed dealers.
(c) 
All firearms that are illegal to possess, as defined by RCW 9.41.098(2)(d), shall be destroyed, and shall not be retained, traded or auctioned. If firearms otherwise illegal to possess may be rendered legal to possess by removal or alteration of component parts, the Fircrest police department may, in its discretion, effect such removal or alteration, and may thereafter dispose of the firearm under subsection (a) of this section.
(d) 
"Firearms that are illegal to possess" means firearms that are illegal to possess as a private citizen under Washington State or federal law.
(e) 
Any proceeds from the trade or auction of firearms shall be used by the general fund of the city.
