With the exception of public reception spaces, offices and other areas in the Fair Lawn Municipal Building at 8-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, including but not limited to the Police Department, Borough Manager's Officer, Borough Clerk's Office, Finance Office, Building and Construction Office, Engineering Department, Human Services, Municipal Court, Tax Assessor's Office, and Tax Collector's Office, as well as the Public Works Department at 20-05 Saddle River Road, the Fair Lawn Free Public Library at 10-01 Fair Lawn Avenue, and the Fair Lawn Community Center at 10-10 20th Street, are not open to the public so as to ensure that the Borough may maintain the integrity of, and safeguard all public records, or portions thereof, in whatever medium, from disclosure where such records or portions thereof contain confidential information or information otherwise exempt from disclosure under the Open Public Records Act or information that is otherwise protected by state and federal laws.

The Borough shall post signs to alert the public to all areas that are not accessible to the public, which signs shall, as appropriate, include the following wording, "Restricted Area," "Authorized Employees Only," "Recording or Photography Strictly Prohibited." Any such signage shall include the words: "Violators are Subject to Criminal Prosecution."
Persons who do not comply with the restrictions contained herein and posted on signs as set forth in § 178-2 hereof shall be subject to prosecution under N.J.S.A. 2C-18-3 for defiant trespassing.
