(a) 
Water service fee.
The following fees shall be paid to the city as water service fees and shall be paid prior to the commencement of service.
(1) 
Connection deposit for water utilities:
(A) 
Residential water: $200.00.
(B) 
Small commercial: $300.00.
(C) 
Large commercial: $450.00.
(D) 
Restaurants: $300.00.
(E) 
Car wash: $300.00.
(F) 
Hotel/motel: $500.00.
(G) 
Multi-Family dwellings: number of units times $15.00; minimum $200.00.
(2) 
Late payment fee: Payments made after the 10th day of the month following the date of billing shall have an additional 10% added as a late payment fee.
(3) 
Connect and reconnect fees:
(A) 
Reconnect fee: when service is disconnected for any reason and request to be reconnected.
(B) 
Reconnect fee: authorized employee, $25.00; removal/reset fee, $25.00.
(4) 
Tampering fee $100.00 first offense, $250.00 second offense, $500 each offense after the second.
(5) 
Rates: residential.
(A) 
Customers inside the city limits base rate if less than 2,000 gallons used: $34.00.
(B) 
2,001 - 7,000 gallons: $2.75/1,000 gal.
(C) 
7,001 - 12,000 gallons: $3.00/1,000 gal.
(D) 
12,001 - 20,000 gallons: $5.00/1,000 gal.
(E) 
20,001 - 50,000 gallons: $8.00/1,000 gal.
(F) 
Over 50,001 gallons: $11.50/1,000 gal.
(6) 
Rates: commercial/industrial.
(A) 
Customers inside the city limits base rate if less than 2,000 gallons used: $34.00.

2,001 - 7,000 gallons: $2.75/1,000 gal.
(C) 
7,001 - 12,000 gallons: $3.00/1,000 gal.

Public schools:

Abernathy volunteer firefighters' rate:

Base rate first 15,000 gal: $22.00.

15,001 - 20,000 gal: $3.00/1,000 gal.

(D) 
Over 50,001 gal: $11.50/1,000 gal.
(9) 
Customers outside the city limits shall be double the inside city rate.
(10) 
Bulk water (coin operated/metered): $34.00/1,000 gal.
(b) 
Water meters.
(1) 
3/4" meter: $1,000.00.
(2) 
1" meter: $1,200.00.
(3) 
> 1" meter: cost of the meter plus $1,200.00.
