A. 
No yard/garage sale (which shall include a yard sale, estate sale, tag sale, rummage sale, and similar events designed to sell non-retail miscellaneous household goods and personal items in a garage or front yard) in the Town is permitted without submitting an application and paying the required fee with the Town as set forth herein.
B. 
Yard vendor sales of new or used retail items requires a mobile vendor's license as outlined below and requires a fee of $200.
No person shall hold more than two yard/garage sales or yard vendor sales per month in the Town. Each such sale shall only be held on Saturdays on the first and third week of the month.
A. 
Property being offered for sale shall be placed in an enclosed building or within the property lines of the property of the seller or other place where the yard/garage sale is authorized to occur. No property being offered for sale can be placed on the street, sidewalk, or any grass median between the sidewalk and street.
B. 
Yard/garage sales and yard vendor sales shall last no longer than eight hours.
C. 
No more than four signs on public property (not utility poles) in Town 48 hours before the yard/garage sale. Said signs shall be removed within 24 hours after the date of the yard/garage or yard vendor sale.
D. 
No food or drink shall be sold or provided during the yard/garage sale or yard vendor sale.
A. 
In all instances, an application established by the Town is required to be submitted, and shall be approved to hold a yard/garage sale at no fee. The application shall provide the following information:
(1) 
The name of the person or entity who will be conducting the yard/garage sale and who is legally responsible for the sale.
(2) 
The location, date, and times of the yard/garage sale.
(3) 
A description of the merchandise and articles to be sold.
B. 
All applications shall be submitted at least seven days prior to the proposed sale.
Upon receipt of an application and fee, the Community Compliance Inspector/Police Chief, or his or her designee, shall review the applications to confirm the required information is included, and the sale will not threaten the health, safety and general welfare of the public. If the application is found satisfactory, the application shall be approved.
