All firearms taken into the custody of the Fife police department on or after July l, 1993, and that are judicially forfeited or forfeited due to a failure to make a claim under RCW 63.40.010, are to be disposed of as follows:
A. 
The Fife police department may retain legal firearms for agency use.
B. 
The chief of police, or his designee, may auction or trade legal firearms to properly licensed commercial sellers, as deemed appropriate by the chief of police or his designee. All proceeds of an auction/trade may be retained by the Fife police department for agency use.
C. 
The chief of police or his designee may destroy legal firearms in lieu of subsections (A) and (B) of this section at the discretion of the chief of police.
D. 
Firearms determined by the chief of Police or his designee to be illegal for any person to possess shall be destroyed.
E. 
No firearm shall be disposed of while it is needed for evidence.

A. 
It is unlawful to discharge a firearm within the city limits of the city except by law enforcement officers engaged in carrying out their official duties or except in the case of an individual exercising their right to bear arms for defense of self or others as guarantee by Article 1, Section 24 of the State Constitution.
B. 
Persons engaged in agricultural production may be issued a permit by the chief of police for the discharge of noise producing blast rounds from a firearm in order to deter birds from destroying crops; provided, however, the person must first obtain a permit to discharge said rounds from the chief of police or his designee. The discharge of said rounds may be restricted in time and duration in order to minimize the disturbance to the peace of the community.
