(1) “City,”
as used in this chapter, includes the mayor and the city council of the city of Forks and the municipal water department.
(2) “Water superintendent”
means the official of the water department and such other personnel as the city council may authorize, appointed by the mayor to oversee the water department personnel and the operation and maintenance of the water system, making repairs of all kinds. Supervise construction of all extensions and additions and any construction work in connection with the present water system, and any new system that may be established. The superintendent shall, at all times, be subject to the direction and authority of, and answerable only to, the mayor and shall hold such appointment during the pleasure of the mayor. The above personnel shall receive such salary as the city council may determine.
