Chapter 7.16 MECHANICAL CODE

This chapter shall be known as the mechanical code of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

There is hereby adopted by reference, except as provided in this chapter, that certain mechanical code known and designated as the Los Angeles County Mechanical Code, Title 29 of the Los Angeles County Code, including all appendices, as adopted by the county of Los Angeles and in effect on January 1, 2026, incorporating the 2025 California Mechanical Code, including all changes adopted by the county of Los Angeles and by the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

A copy of Title 29 of the Los Angeles County Code, which is referenced as the "County of Los Angeles Mechanical Code (Title 29)" is on file in the office of the city clerk for public record and inspection.

If there is any inconsistency between any provisions of Title 29 of the Los Angeles County Code and other provisions of this municipal code, such other provisions of this municipal code shall prevail.

§ 7.16.030 Definitions.

Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in the Los Angeles County Mechanical Code, each such name or term shall be deemed and construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section as follows:

"Board of supervisors"

means the city council of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

"Building department"

means the building and safety division of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

"Building official"

means the city of La Cañada Flintridge designated building official.

"City"

means the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

"County engineer"

means the city engineer of the city of La Cañada Flintridge.

"County," "county of Los Angeles" or "unincorporated territory of the county of Los Angeles" means the city of La Cañada Flintridge

"Electrical code"
