There is hereby established the office of the community development director.

The office of community development director shall be filled by appointment of the mayor and confirmed by a majority of the city council.

The community development director shall be responsible for city planning and for administering city ordinances and regulations related to land use and development activity.

The community development director shall receive such salary and benefits as the city council may establish in the annual budget or as may be established by contractual agreement.
