There is hereby established within the Township of Hainesport a local Board of Health which shall have all of the powers, rights, duties and entitlements conferred upon it by N.J.S.A. 26:3-1 et seq.

The local Board of Health shall consist of the members of the Township Committee, the Township Assessor, the Township Clerk, and one physician or school nurse to be appointed by the Township Committee. Additionally, there may be two Alternate Members appointed by the Township Committee, designated as "Alternate No. 1" and "Alternate No. 2."
The members of the Board of Health who are also members of the Township Committee shall serve on the Board of Health in terms coextensive with their terms on the Township Committee. The physician or school nurse to be appointed by the Township Committee shall serve for a term of three years from the time of his/her appointment until his/her successor is appointed. The terms of the alternate members shall be for two years, except that of the first two Alternate Members appointed, one shall be appointed for a term of one year so that the term of not more than one Alternate Member shall expire in any one year. A vacancy occurring otherwise than by expiration of term shall be filled by the Township Committee for the unexpired term only.
A.
Repealer. Any and all ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this chapter are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistencies.
B.
Severability. In the event that any clause, section, paragraph or sentence of this chapter is deemed to be invalid or unenforceable for any reason, then the Township Committee hereby declares its intent that the balance of the chapter not affected by said invalidity shall remain in full force and effect to the extent that it allows the Township to meet the goals of the chapter.
C.
Effective date. This chapter shall take effect upon proper passage in accordance with the law.
