A. 
Pursuant to the State of New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-192 et seq., the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code, N.J.A.C. 5:70-1 et seq., shall be enforced locally in the Township of Jackson.
A. 
Pursuant to Section 11 of the State of New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act, (P.L. 1983 c. 383) the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code (hereinafter "NJUFC") shall be enforced locally within the Township of Jackson.
B. 
The local enforcing agencies (hereinafter "LEA") shall enforce the NJUFC, and the codes and regulations adopted pursuant thereto, in all buildings, structures and premises within established boundaries of the Township of Jackson, other than owner-occupied one- and two-family and attached single family dwellings used exclusively for dwelling purposes, and buildings, structures, and premises owned or operated by the federal government, interstate agencies or the State of New Jersey, and shall faithfully comply with the requirements of the NJUFC. Privately owned premises that fall under the jurisdiction of the Division of Fire Safety are not within the enforcement authority of the local enforcing agency.
C. 
The local enforcing agencies shall conduct change of occupant inspections pursuant to N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.3.
D. 
Where code may be examined. The current codes as adopted by the State of New Jersey are available for review on the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety website and the Jackson Township Ordinance is available for review by appointment at the respective Fire Bureau's office.
A. 
The LEAs established by this chapter shall be under the direct supervision and control of the respective Fire Officials, who shall serve as the Chief Administrators and Code Officials for said agencies. Such funds as may be necessary to support the operation of the Fire Bureaus shall be paid from the budgets of the Board of Fire Commissioners having jurisdiction.
B. 
The LEA located within the geographic boundaries established by ordinance for Fire District No. 2 shall be the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 2, who shall operate the Bureau of Fire Prevention Fire District No. 2, which is hereby created to enforce the NJUFC within the respective geographic boundaries of that district. The Fire Official for Fire District No. 2 shall report to the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 2.
C. 
The LEA located within the geographic boundaries established by ordinance for Fire District No. 3 shall be the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 3, who shall operate the Bureau of Fire Safety Fire District No. 3, which is hereby created to enforce the NJUFC within the respective geographic boundaries of that district. The Fire Official for Fire District No. 3 shall report to the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 3.
D. 
The LEA located within the geographic boundaries established by ordinance for Fire District No. 4 shall be the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 4, who shall operate the Bureau of Fire Prevention Fire District No. 4, which is hereby created to enforce the NJUFC within the respective geographic boundaries of that district. The Fire Official for Fire District No. 4 shall report to the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 4.
A. 
Term of office. The appointment of the Fire Official is permanent, subject to the New Jersey Civil Service Rules and Regulations.
B. 
Removal from office. The Fire Official, inspectors and other employees of the LEA shall be removed for inefficiency, misconduct, or failure to perform duties, pursuant to and in accordance with the New Jersey Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Title 11 of the Revised Statutes. Each person so removed shall be afforded an opportunity to be heard by the appointing authority, consistent with recognized standards of due process.
C. 
Fire Official appointments.
(1) 
The LEA for Fire District No. 2 shall be under the direct supervision of a Fire Official appointed by the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 2, pursuant to and in accordance with the New Jersey Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Title 11 of the Revised Statutes.
(2) 
The LEA for Fire District No. 3 shall be under the direct supervision of a Fire Official appointed by the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 3, pursuant to and in accordance with the New Jersey Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Title 11 of the Revised Statutes.
(3) 
The LEA for Fire District No. 4 shall be under the direct supervision of a Fire Official appointed by the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 4, pursuant to and in accordance with the New Jersey Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Title 11 of the Revised Statutes.
D. 
Fire inspectors and other employees assigned to an LEA shall be appointed by the Board of Fire Commissioners having jurisdiction, upon the recommendation of the Fire Official, and shall report to the Fire Official for day-to-day operation assignments, pursuant to the NJUFC, and in accordance with the New Jersey State Civil Service Rules and Regulations, Title 11 of the Revised Statutes.
